Winter Gathering

You will need

VDL Adrenalin Snowflakes Plugin
(Use Google to find it)

My zip file HERE

Place the DMSbluechristmas in your patterns folder

Place the tube where you keep your tubes

 

1: Open a new transparent canvas 400X375.

Find the dmsbluechristmas  angle 0 and scale at 100. Flood the canvas.

2: Open the dmschristmasanimals tube. Copy and paste as a new layer.

Lower the opacity on this layer to 60%.

3: X out the background layer.

Making sure the tube layer is active with the magic wand tolerance and feather set at 0 click outside the tube area.

Selections invert.

Layers new raster layer.

Flood with gold.

4: Selections modify contract by 4. Hit delete once.

Select none.

Name this layer gold.

5: X out the gold layer and take the X off the background layer.

Merge visible.

Name the merged layer main.

Take the X from the gold layer.

6: Image canvas size with these settings:

7: Making sure the main layer is active, with the magic wand tolerance and feather set at 0 click in the transparent area to the right.

Layers new raster layer.

Flood with a gold fill. Do not deselect.

8: Layers new raster layer.

Selections modify contract by 4.

Flood with the dmschristmasblue fill.

Select none.

X out the gold layer again and merge visible. Rename the merged main again.

You should have something that looks like this.

9: Select the text tool and the Brrrr regular font with the following settings.

Make sure your gold pattern as your background.

Type in your text. Use a new layer for each word. Convert to raster layer after each word.

Position as in main graphic at the top.

X out all the layers except your text layers and merge visible. Rename text.

Remove the X from all layers.

10: Change the gold to the foreground colour.

Select the paintbrush too. Size 2 set to round.

Make sure the text layer is active

Join up any little gaps on the text where the transparent area. (See graphic)

11:Zoom in and select all of the transparent area's on the text with the magic wand. Make sure the magic wand is set with a tolerance of 20.

Layers new raster layer.

Flood the transparent areas with white.

12: Take the X off the main layer, but making sure the gold layer is still X-ed out merge visible. Rename main.

You should now have 1 main layer and one text layer again.

13: Take the X from the gold layer and make it active.

With the magic wand tolerance and feather both set at zero click inside the gold shape.

Duplicate the gold layer twice. You should at this point have 3 gold layers and 1 main layer.

14: X out the top 2 gold layers and make the first one active.

Effects, plugins VDL Adrenalin Snowflakes with the following settings. Leave selected.

15: Take the X from the first copy of the gold.

Effects, plugins VDL Adrenalin Snowflakes with the same settings except change the random seed to 400. Leave selected.

16: Take the X from the second copy of the gold.

Effects, plugins VDL Adrenalin Snowflakes with the same settings except change the random seed to 800.

Select none.

17: Making sure you are on the main layer image canvas size with these settings.

18: Click  transparent area to select the left, top and bottom. Fill with gold.

Select none.

19: Click on the main layer and duplicate twice. You should now have 3 main layers and 3 gold layers.

20: X out the top 2 main layers and the top 2 gold layers. Click on one of the layers without the X and merge visible.

21: Keep the top main layer and the top gold layer X-ed out as well as the merged layer. Click on one of the layers without the X and merge visible.

22:X out both the merged layer, and make sure the remaining unmerged gold and main layer are visible. Click on one of the layers without the X and merge visible. Un-X all layers.

Save as a PSP 7 image.

Animation

1: Open your image in animation shop. Click and hold down the mouse on the right side of the image so as you can see all layers.

2: Edit select all.

3: Animation, frame properties 25. Ok. (You can change this setting to one of your choice if you wish)

4: If you are happy with your result save as a gif image.

Add corners if you wish and you are all done.
